FAQs

“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” - Maria Montessori

How does Nicholas Montessori program work?

A. Each of our class operates on the Freedom within Limits principal where we stress on respect for each other and the surrounding environment. We give children the complete freedom to set their pace, choose study materials, and work alone or in groups. The teacher is the observer in the classroom striking the crucial balance between group collaboration and independent mastery.

Can all children join this program?

A. The Montessori method has been used successfully for children between the ages of 2 and 18 years from every background and ability. All children between the ages of 2 and 6 years are welcome to join our programs, irrespective of their capabilities and background. Self-directed nature of Montessori education makes it exceptionally effective for children with disabilities and highly gifted children as well.

What I should know about sensitive periods?

A. Ages between two and six are considered the sensitive period in children. During these ages, little people are extremely studious, curious, loving, and sometimes, quite independent. We strive to give them a rich and nurturing environment where they feel loved, safe, and challenged; ready to explore the world around them.
